We finally had our first costume party in Kumamoto. Costume parties are not a regular occurrence in Japan.  Most of the Japanese guests had never been to a costume party before and enjoyed being in a costume and watching the many foreigners in alien attire getting inebriated.

The evening started slow but picked up about 10:30pm.  Just in time for the neighbors below to voice their opinion about noise pollution.  Luckily the conga line had just finished in the kitchen.

The costumes consisted of, scary movie  ghoul, kimono, a television set, Peruvian man, Japanese business man, school girl, pregnant lady, Carmen Miranda, Zeus, bathtub dude, karate sensei, Chinese diplomat and sexy hot lady to name a few.

Prizes were given out for the following:

1. Best Costume - Kaki san: Sexy hot lady
2. Best Pot luck snack - Masa san: Toasted snacks
3. Best Dancing - kimono girl: Jazzy dancing
4. Best Haiku - Nick: Bottoms up!
5. The "genkiest" person - Mika - Biggest smile all night

Good times were had by all. (Except the neighbors)
